The Council is consulting on 'Options and Preferences' for the new Wigan Local Plan from Tuesday 17 October - Monday 11 December. We intend the Local Plan to be ambitious for the future of the borough as far forward as 2040, and this is a key stage for people to get involved and influence what it is in the Local Plan.
This is one of 10 consultation events taking place during the consultation period, to enable residents and interested parties the opportunity to discuss the Options and Preferences with us prior to submitting comments. Each event will focus on that particular locality.
It will begin with a short presentation from the Council, providing an overview of the Local Plan and our vision to 2040, followed by interactive sessions where you can discuss and raise views on the future of your local area, including its town centre, housing mix, open space provision and community infrastructure.
