A fair and inclusive borough

Over the past year, we have worked with residents, partners, and community voices to co-produce a new set of promises, ones that feel real, relevant, and rooted in people’s everyday lives - these are our ‘All Different, All Equal’ promises.

They reflect what matters most to our communities and what we must do to build a fairer, more inclusive borough. These promises strongly support our Progress with Unity missions.

The promises were informed by:

  • Community held meetings
  • Workshops
  • Tell us your stories
  • Online survey
  • Collection of over 140 ideas

Our Promises, in plain language

We have made three simple, powerful promises:

  • Services, spaces, schools, workplaces and information across the borough should be easy to use, welcoming, and open to everyone.
  • Celebrating what makes people different and what brings them together, to help build stronger, kinder communities.
  • Racial and disability inequality must be recognised and addressed through meaningful action.
