Information about this project
My Day My Way – the future of Adult Social Care Opportunities.
We want to create better day services and opportunities that help you live a good life. This means having choices, feeling included, and doing things that matter to you — whether you live at home, attend a service or want to be in the community.
‘My Day My Way’ is an engagement model to help us to understand the everyday experiences, needs, and aspirations of people with learning disabilities, autism and other conditions who access care and support services. We aim to collate key themes and insights and support the development of opportunities in their lives, with an emphasis on services removing barriers and supporting individuals to live a meaningful life and have an active presence within society. By listening to the voices of individuals, families, and provider services, we hope to co-create a menu of day opportunities and adult social care offers that reflect real needs and preferences. These insights will help shape future planning, improve support systems, and promote a more inclusive society where everyone can thrive.
What We’re Doing:
We’re working with people to build a new way of offering care and support during the day. It will help people:
- Be more independent
- Feel happy and well
- Be part of their community
- Life a fulfilled live of their choosing
Our Goals:
- Listen to people with lived experience - We want to hear from people who use care and support services, so their ideas help shape changes and develop new models of support.
- Work with different people and groups - We will talk to families, carers, support workers, service providers, and community groups to help inform our new models of support.
- Build trust and be open - We will be honest, share updates, and make sure people know what is happening and how to get involved.
- Create more choices for care and support - We want people to have support that meets their needs, in different places across the Borough.
