Housing - New Homes & Regeneration
Wigan Council’s New Homes and Regeneration Team deliver an ambitious programme of new build housing development and regeneration projects across the borough. We are committed to building new homes which meet the needs of our residents, creating a variety of homes across the borough that will cater for future generations and for our growing numbers of older people.
Across the borough we have seen a rapid increase in demand for affordable housing over the last three years and need to rapidly increase the supply of affordable homes to meet this need.
We want our new homes to support the health and wellbeing of residents, to create local economic benefits and to contribute to our climate change commitments.
We believe that consulting with the local community is an important part of the housing development process and is essential for ensuring any new housing best meets the needs of the community in which it is to be built.
