The proposed area on Heysham road is already currently a heavily used area for local residents parking, restricting this further (by people not blocking the new driveways) would congest this area even further and risk further road & pedestrian safety concerns. This is already close to a high risk area of the mini-roundabout on City Road, and more vehicles parked on the roadsides would only add to the chaos.
For the City Road/Orrell Hall Close proposal, This area has already been heavily developed on with the new houses being built at the end of the cul-de-sac. This has been a massive disturbance to all of the residents on the street. This would be yet more disruptions to the residents and would end up with more traffic down the cul-de-sac as visitors (or residents) could end up parking there rather than off City Road.
Not to mention restricting that commonly used walkthrough (by residents of the entire estate) to an alleyway would be a significant risk to anti-social behaviour and the comfort and safety of the homeowners in the area.
Rather than develop these areas into yet more housing why not turn them into something of a productive green space for residents to enjoy and rather than cram as many houses onto greenfield sites, re-invest in brownfield areas to bring them back up to a usable standard.
