Footpath/cycle path to connect Shevington to Standish Lower Ground

From "West Wigan Engagement"

Go to the project

As it stands, there is no pavement along Wigan Road to Wigan Lower Road. The only way for people to pass this area on foot is via muddy, unlit paths across woods or fields. People who do not know the area walk in the road and are in danger of being hit on the Z bends. This is a major barrier for people in Shevington, preventing them from walking or cycling into Wigan or even just to Crooke/SLG. Kids who go to Shevington High in those areas cannot walk a safe route. People have to rely on buses or use the car — which is not helping them to walk/cycle on a regular basis. Please connect this area, by widening the road and laying a pavement and, if possible, a cycle lane.
