Thank you for your comments. The area that has been fenced off will be used for site storage and contractor parking during the build period. The site is quite restricted meaning it is necessary to use a separate area to store materials and to minimise the number of additional vehicles parked on the street.
The fenced area was originally sited at the other end of the grassed area but was moved by the contractors to allow children playing on the remaining grass area to be more shielded from the main road at residents request. As work on site progresses different areas of the site will be used for storage to allow work in other areas. The area will be returned to general use with the grass remediated towards the end of the build period.
Every effort will be made for the duration of the works to minimise the impact on residents and visitors to the area.
Land Opposite Development
From "Yates Street, Leigh"

Is there a reason for the land opposite the development also now having over half of the grass fenced off. Residents are already dealing with the constant vandalism of the fences and attempted vehicle break ins from them now being parked with obstructed views from homes.
Did not see in any plans that this area would also be blocked off.
