Golborne Park Master Plan
In the 1990s, Golborne Park underwent a transformation from an industrial coal pit into a vibrant public space, drawing residents with a variety of activities and opportunities to enjoy green space.
We're now building upon this foundation by embarking on an exciting journey to develop a comprehensive master plan for Golborne Park. Your thoughts and ideas will guide us, ensuring that the park reflects the desires and aspirations of the community it serves.
In March 2021, the Council sought input from the community on how to allocate funding to enhance the town's infrastructure. Golborne Park and its surrounding open spaces emerged as a priority, laying the groundwork for our initiative to enhance the park.
We invite you to join this important conversation by sharing your thoughts on further improving Golborne Park and its play area. Your input will directly shape the development of our master plan, aligning with the key themes identified during the 2021 consultation process.
Whether you're a frequent visitor, a nature enthusiast, a parent seeking safe play spaces for your children, or simply someone who values community green spaces, your perspective is invaluable to us.
Phases
Reviewing opportunity of the master-plan
Following the consultation phase where we gathered residents' views and held drop-in sessions, we have now developed a master plan for Golborne Park in collaboration with the award-winning landscape architecture firm Reshaped.
The master plan addresses the current challenges and highlights numerous opportunities to enhance the park into a high-quality green space that will be well-utilised by the community. It also outlines strategies for integrating improvements with the park's broader aspirations.
We are now ready to adopt the master plan as a live document, guiding future enhancements and ensuring the park evolves in line with community needs and aspirations.
