Consultation with Parents/Carers of School aged children in Wigan

School Aged Childcare – Why We Need Your Feedback

Local authorities must make sure there are enough childcare places for working parents, or those studying or training for work, for children aged 0–14 years, and up to 18 years for disabled children. This also includes childcare types not fully covered in our previous consultation, such as holiday provision.

To understand what families need, we are inviting parents and carers to complete our updated School Aged Childcare Consultation. Your feedback will help us plan future childcare and identify any gaps.

✅ What We Want to Know – School Aged Childcare

Your views will help us understand demand for different types of childcare, including:

  • Free Breakfast Clubs
  • Paid Before‑School and After‑School Childcare
  • Holiday Childcare
  • We also want to know about any other childcare you use, such as school‑run activity clubs or support from family and friends.
